Open letter to all friends and family
Dear Friends,
I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce you to our company and our mission. I tried to keep this short and to the point, but if you would like additional information, please do not hesitate to email us at info@2dapparel.com.
For 1 month out of the year, the public has awareness about breast cancer.
For 12 months, women struggle to pay out of pocket expenses while fighting this dreaded disease. We formed Double D apparel Web site and related products to help these women with three objectives in mind.
First, we wanted to create a line of products for which the proceeds contributed to families and individuals who are currently fighting breast cancer. This support is not for research nor treatment. There are plenty of organizations who provide this type of support. Our goal is to help people cover costs of items that are not traditionally covered by insurance. We want to pay for items like:
Transportation
Gasoline
Clothes
Shoes
Protective Gear
Insurance deductibles
Medical Procedures Co-Pays
Prescription Co-Pays
Personal Hygiene
Breast Implants
Automotive
Wigs
Food
Staple Items
Utilities
Rent / Mortgage assistance
Everyday living expenses.
Second, we want to have fun doing it and create products people enjoy wearing, even if it's in a bold sort of way. We have a very serious cause but also think that humor can be a treatment when applied in context.
Third, as a for profit organization we can provide these gifts to the people who need it and maintain control of the quality of charity we support. Additionally, we have people to pay as well as suppliers. We are earmarking Up To 80% of net proceeds from sales to be contributed directly to organizations providing these relief items.
So, we believe our initial line of Double D shirts are priced accordingly with the market and also provide revenue to contribute to organizations like Hope Chest, Beverly's Closet, The Lyn Fund and others. We will publish a comprehensive list of organizations on the Web site and will provide documentation to anyone, notwithstanding reason and necessity.
We hope you find this a worthwhile effort and contribute to the cause by purchasing our apparel and other products, then by telling all of your friends to do the same. Quite frequently, people buy multiple shirts giving extras to friends and family.
I would like to close by saying how committed we are to the cause and hope to put a smile on your face with every product we release. And remember, a Double D shirt on someone's back could mean a meal on someone else's table.
Wishes for good health and success!
